KSA: Major firms appointed for Riyadh Airport development
King Salman International Airport Development Company (KSIADC) has chosen Jacobs, Mace, and Foster + Partners to design and build the King Salman International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This ambitious project, part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), aims to create one of the world's largest airports. Covering 57 km² with six runways, it will be capable of handling up to 120 million passengers by 2030 and 185 million by 2050. The development will also include 12 km² of additional facilities such as residential, recreational, and logistical spaces. The airport is intended to bolster Riyadh's status as a global transportation and trade hub, supporting Saudi Arabia's economic diversification away from oil dependence.
