Saudi Arabia's Qiddiya Investment Co. has awarded a $1 billion contract to a consortium comprising Spain's FCC Construction and Saudi Arabia’s Nesma & Partners for the development of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium. Located atop the Tuwaiq cliff in Qiddiya’s new sports and entertainment district near Riyadh, this high-tech stadium is set to become a world-class multipurpose venue.

Designed by the U.S.-based architect Populous, the stadium will feature a retractable roof, flexible flooring, and a unique movable upper wall to offer panoramic views of the attractions below, including Six Flags Qiddiya and a water park. Wrapped in 1.5 km of display screens, it will seat over 45,000 guests and host a variety of events—from football and boxing to esports and concerts. The stadium also incorporates an advanced climate control system with a cooling lake and eco-friendly ice wall to ensure comfort in all seasons.

As part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the project supports tourism growth, job creation, and a world-class entertainment destination in Qiddiya, in line with the Kingdom’s goal to position itself as a leader in global sports and entertainment.
